What?
Free training sessions covering Microsoft Power BI, Azure Synapse, SQL Server, and other Microsoft data related topics, presented by passionate users, MVPs, and you if you have something useful to share!
A virtual meeting is held on the first Thursday of every month @ 1 pm GMT/BST. It's a free-to-attend, informal gathering of like-minded people, with 1-2 speakers presenting an hour-long session including tips, techniques, and information on old, new, and upcoming technology.

We are looking to return to in-person, if you have access to a suitable venue in the centre of Birmingham please let us know!

Thursday 2nd May at 13:00 (BST - UK Time) This week we are doing things a little different and hosting 2 shorter sessions back-to-back.
Session 1: Joe Billingham
Title: Harnessing the Power of the DAX Engine: Storage vs FormulaDescription:
In this session we'll discuss the inner workings of the two parts of the DAX engine - Storage and Formula.We'll cover the differences between the two parts and how to write expressions that target each individual component, allowing us to utilize their combined power to unlock the full potential of DAX. We'll see how optimizing expressions in order to harness the power of these engines helps increase performance. We'll also introduce two tools to help with diagnosis, Performance Analyser and DAX Studio.
By the end of this session, you'll have a solid understanding of what the DAX engine consists of, how the parts work together and how to use them to your advantage to make your expressions faster and more efficient. You will also know how to view a DAX query plan to help troubleshoot slow performing queries.
Session 2: Lewis Prince
Title: CoPilot Studio: Guiding Your Chatbot Take-off with AI Aviation!Description:
I will talk you through how I created the CoPilot chatbot for the SQLBits website.
We will look at why CoPilot is relevant, using CoPilot Studio to create your own bespoke bot, how to deal with answers not being right, how to use the inbuilt analytics, how to test and then deploy your bots. There will also be some hints and tips on best practice and what I think works best from my personal experience of using the tool.Agenda:
